Dr. Doug Hinterman

BACKGROUND

Was born in Detroit in the tumultuous year of 1968 (Tigers won the World Series!), raised in Flint, attended college in Ann Arbor, and has been happily settled in the Lansing area since 1995. His father is also a general dentist. As a baby, Dr. H used to sit in his high chair and watch his father do his Dental School labwork (carving teeth out of wax, etc.). Apparently it had an effect...

PROFESSIONAL

Bachelors and Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from University of Michigan, Former instructor at the University of Michigan Dental School, Represented Michigan and Wisconsin to the American Dental Association Committee on the New Dentist, Michigan Dental Association member liason to the Committee on Public Relations, former chair of Central District Dental Society Ethics Committee, graduate of the USDI Orthodontic training program (orthodontic training for general and pediatric dentists).

ENJOYS

Playing saxophone and guitar, swimming, golf and skiing. Enjoys northern Michigan in all of it's 4 beautiful seasons. Mostly loves spending time with Christi and the 4 teenagers and young adult children with all of their expanding interests and pursuits.

Married wife Christi in 1993 and have four children (Olivia, Luke, Grant, and Jessi) along with the 7th family member, Stella the beloved Shih-tzu.

Ali

RDH Hygienist

Ali first started working for Dr. Hinterman in 2006 where she helped with assisting as well as anything else that needed to be done. After she got a taste of working in the dental field, she decided to go back to school. In 2009, she graduated from Lansing Community College with an Applied Science degree in Dental Hygiene. She loves meeting patients and enjoys getting to know each patient better and how she can best meet their hygiene needs and concerns. She is a master organizer as she loves to organize anything. Not just watching, but playing sports is another favorite of Ali's as well as reading. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her husband, two children, and her boxer dog Miley.

Dawn

Certified Dental Assistant

With 20 years of dental assistant experience, Dawn joined the team in 2003. She is a very reliable and skilled assistant to Dr. Hinterman's practice as she helps him perform the best dental care possible for our patients. Her favorite season is summer where she is often spotted in Grand Haven spending time with her family. She has 3 girls.

Deena

RDH Hygienist

Deena graduated with an Applied Science in Dental Hygiene degree in 2011 from Ferris State University. She has been with Dr. Hinterman since 2015. She loves getting to know each and every patient while providing a comfortable atmosphere and a gentle touch. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and friends. Deena also enjoys traveling and seeing different places and experiencing new things!

Dianna

Office Manager

Dianna joined the practice of Dr. Hinterman in 2000 bringing with her previous valuable experience in the medical field. Dianna is the point person in the office, from billing, insurance, and general questions about the office. She occasionally assists Dr. Hinterman with dental procedures when needed. She lives in the country with her husband and two children. She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling to new places.

Sharon

RDH Hygienist

Sharon has enjoyed her career as a hygienist for over 20 years. She joined the team in the summer of 2020 and brings a depth of experience and a great sense of humor. She loves spending time with her husband and 5 children. In her spare time she enjoys outdoor activities including downhill skiing, boating and hiking.
